With the exception of the big surprise when Ivan Ljubicic won in 2010, this tournament has been won by either Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal or Novak Djokovic the last 13 years. Djokovic heads the all-time list with five titles here. Andy Murray have never won this tournament, but he is the bookies favorite to do it this year.
My initial thoughts were to go with Djokovic to win this one, but he has one hell of a draw ahead of him with Del Potro, A. Zverev/Kyrgios, Nadal/Federer in third, fourth and fifth round. The draw looks quite lopsided, and Andy Murray have gotten a very good draw and therefore I will place the bet on him to win this tournament for the first time. Bet365 has Murray at 3.25.
Kei Nishikori has also gotten a nice draw and a semi-final looks probable if his fitness doesn’t let him down yet again. At 28.00, I will place a small bet on the Japanese.
My last outright bet will be on Tomas Berdych at 51.00. He probably need to beat Wawrinka and Thiem to reach the semi-final, but if he is playing at his potential, that is more than possible. The Berdman have produced several great results in Masters in North America and hopefully he will continue to deliver this year.
Andy Murray to win Indian Wells at 3.25 for 2.5 units.
Kei Nishikori to win Indian Wells at 28.00 for 0.5 unit.
Tomas Berdych to win Indian Wells at 51.00 for 0.5 unit.
